People gathering for Church at the Haven

Our Sunday Service

The Haven Church meets each Sunday of the year at 10.30am. Our service lasts for approximately 75 minutes, although in the school summer holidays it is shorter. We always have refreshments available throughout the service and afterwards.

An information table is available near the entrance for people who would like to find out more about the church and what we get up to.

If you are unable to join us in person, we also live stream our services to enable you to join live or catch up at a later time.  Click here for more details and recent services

Children on a Sunday

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.”  Matthew 19:14

Jesus thought that children were amazing; that they were so much a part of His Kingdom that they showed us how we can come into it ourselves. So, children and their families are a big part of The Haven Church, and we love having them. If we didn’t have children, our church woudn’t be complete.

Children’s Church, a group for 4-8 year olds, runs every Sunday except through the school summer holidays.

We want children to feel comfortable, safe and at home. We don’t mind if they’re noisy or that they don’t sit still – they’re children! We want to provide a safe place for children and their families to come.

Babies and Crèche

Of course, you are welcome to come to church with your baby! If you need to feed your baby, that’s no problem. There are facilities to warm a bottle in the kitchen and, if you need a little privacy, the crèche room is also there.

The crèche room is also handy if your baby or small child is a little distressed and needs a calmer place. The service audio is played through a speaker there, so you won’t miss out. There are books and toys for young children. We ask that you supervise your children whilst they’re there, for the safety and comfort of everyone.

Children’s Church

For children of 4-8 years, Children’s Church runs every week except during the school summer holidays.

During Children’s Church, your child will be able to sing songs, play games, do puzzles and activities, all based around the Bible.

Our Children’s Church team have been selected using safer recruitment best practice and are regularly checked through the government Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The Children’s Church leader and helper will be wearing lanyards, so you can see who they are.

You are more than welcome to come and see where the children will be before the service starts – just ask one of the Children’s Church team to take you up. However, we ask that you don’t stay with your child during Children’s Church for safeguarding reasons. If your child needs you, we will come and find you.

Older Children

Children over the age of 8 stay in church throughout the service. There are books available in the creche room that you borrow should you want to.
